Green Processing Company (GPC) is a Burundian agri-food company that presses avocados into oil. We handle every step, from choosing the fruit to delivering a premium oil, and we treat nature with respect along the way.
Why now
A growing market, and a country ready to supply it.
Global demand for avocados has grown sharply over the past decade as more consumers learn about the fruit’s health benefits, especially in the European Union. The global avocado market was worth about $13 billion in 2020 and was forecast to grow 5–7% a year through 2027.
In Africa, Kenya and South Africa lead production. Burundi’s climate suits avocados, but most of its potential has gone unused. GPC has been operating in Burundi since May 2025, as part of a growing network of local agri-food processors.
Vision
Premium oil for changing tastes, at home and abroad.
We want to supply premium avocado oil that keeps pace with what consumers in Burundi and abroad are asking for. Through modern processing and a clear place in the market, we also want to encourage sustainable farming, improve local livelihoods and add to Burundi’s economic growth.

Economic impact
Income for farmers, jobs in processing and exports that bring foreign currency into Burundi.
Social responsibility
Fair sourcing, safe and decent work, and at least half of the jobs we create held by women.
